From the Flexperts | How to Craft an In-Person Gathering Program for Distributed Teams
As the remote work revolution reshapes the workplace landscape, organizations find themselves navigating the vast terrain of distributed teams and hybrid arrangements. Co-location, once the standard, has given way to a new era, presenting unique operational hurdles for companies eager to preserve genuine in-person connections.
The key question — how do we foster meaningful in-person interactions in this ever-evolving landscape? And, as organizations grow in complexity, how do we establish a framework that supports vibrant in-person gatherings?
In her Flexpert post, Upwork’s Charlotte Johnson shares how to create in-person gathering programs tailored to the unique needs of distributed teams.
Each week we spotlight an emerging best practice on flexible work adoption or implementation from the best thinkers in flexible work. Interested in becoming a “Flexpert” and sharing your insights? Sign up today.
Fact of the Week
Motivations for Working in the Office Full Time
Only 1 in 7 employees working in the office full time do so by choice. The vast majority of employees working in the office full time do so because of company requirement.
Cara Allamano, Chief People Officer at Lattice, predicts that organizations implementing return to office (RTO) mandates will not find them to be the quick productivity fix they are imagining. Rather, it is the companies with strategic, business-centered HR practices who will excel in navigating flexible work shifts.
Notably, Lattice's research reveals that 48% of employees would consider leaving because of dissatisfaction with flexible work policies, highlighting the urgent need for strategic management in talent retention.
